Emmy Irvine is a breakout jazz vocalist and songwriter currently studying under La Tanya Hall at Oberlin Conservatory. The 2026 Downbeat award winner for Vocal Jazz Soloist in the Undergraduate College Division, Emmy has performed at major jazz venues across the US including Close Up, Cleveland Museum of Art, Nublu, and Tilles jazz fest sponsored by Jazz at Lincoln Center. A composer, artist, collaborator, and teacher, she has shared the stage with widely respected artists such as Emmanuel Micheal, Gerald Cannon, and Luis Perdomo. Emmy has multiple perspectives in the music industry, having worked behind the scenes at the  legendary Jazz at Lincoln Center for the likes of Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, Wynton Marsalis, Kenny Garret, Terrance Blanchard, Abdullah Ibrahim, and Cyro Baptista. Her artistry is a reflection of her influences, ranging from Carmen McCrea and Shirley Horn, to Jorja Smith and Lizzy Mcalpine. Emmy is a storyteller first and foremost. Whether she is performing with Oberlin's prestigious Sonny Rollins jazz ensemble, re-interpreting the Great American Songbook, performing originals at clubs and sessions in New York and across the country, or sitting alone at a piano, her passion to innovate grows every day.
